1. Acceptance of these terms
By using Colleague (the "Service") at wearecolleague.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. What Colleague is
Colleague is a free collection of calculators and a unit converter for students, covering academic, engineering, mathematics, and business topics. It is an informational and educational tool. It is not academic, financial, legal, medical, or professional advice, and no professional relationship is created by using it.
The Service is free to use and requires no account. Every calculation runs in your own browser.
3. Treat every result as an estimate
- Grading scales, credit systems, tax rules, and loan terms vary between institutions, lenders, and jurisdictions. Always confirm important numbers with your registrar, academic advisor, lender, or a qualified professional.
- GPA results use a standard unweighted 4.0 scale, and loan results assume a fixed rate with no missed payments. Your institution's or lender's actual method may differ.
- Engineering and science calculators use standard published formulas and idealized assumptions. They are not a substitute for professional engineering judgment, and must not be used as the sole basis for any design, safety, or structural decision.
- Do not rely on any result for enrollment, graduation, financial, or professional decisions without independently verifying it.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you agree not to:
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure.
- Scrape or harvest the Service at scale, or copy its content in bulk for republication.
- Interfere with, obscure, or artificially inflate interactions with any advertising shown on the Service, including clicking your own ads or encouraging others to click ads.
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
5. Advertising
Colleague is supported by third-party advertising, including Google AdSense, which is what keeps the calculators free. Ads and any pages they link to are the responsibility of the advertiser. We do not endorse advertised products or services, we do not control their content, and any dealings you have with an advertiser are solely between you and them.

6. Intellectual property
The Colleague name, logo, illustrations, written explanations, and site design belong to Colleague. You are welcome to use the calculators for personal, academic, and professional reference, and to link to any page on the site. Please do not copy or redistribute the branding, design, or written content as your own.
The underlying mathematical formulas are standard published knowledge and are not claimed as our property.
7. Third-party links
The Service may link to third-party websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, including individual calculators, at any time.
9. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, and including any warranty that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Colleague is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, opportunity, or academic or financial standing, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — including decisions made on the basis of a calculator's result.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
